Big blue sky,
Cold crisp December air,
Soul alive,
Spirits reigning high,
Jingle bells and all that!
Many a hangover is on the way,
The post man will deliver,
Nights we will feel the shiver,
Nights sitting beside the Christmas tree!
The end of the year grows near,
Drowned out with over-eating and beer,
A new year is just around the corner,
It will soon be Goodbye 2009,
Hello and Welcome 2010,
And before we know it we’ll be basking in summer!
But for now we have blue skies,
Cold crisp December air,
Jingle bells and all that!
Stuffed turkey, mash and Brussels sprouts,
Smothered with thick gravy,
Washed down by a nice wine,
Oh Yeh, it’s Christmas time!
Unwrapping your newest possessions,
And watching the kids unwrap theirs,
Your own childhood momentarily relived,
Your child’s memory being written!
