thunder and lightning,
it’s been raining all night,
standing under an umbrella,
i am drenched to the bone;

its’ been like this for quite sometime,
cloudy and overcast,
dark clouds lingering in the horizon,
threatening to flood the land below;

drawing a parallel,
my life has been like this,
dark, gloomy and overcast,
ready to burst anytime;

i tried to take shelter,
i tried to do things that will protect me,
i tried and i did,
but i could not escape;

stuck, as i am, deeply into it,
the dark forces of life seem to be
taking control of MY LIFE
and pushing me towards the brink;

i tried to run away,
but with legs bound by chains,
i could not even move an inch;

i tried to close my eyes,
but the darkness is even more frightening;

as i wade through the storm,
completely drenched and
soaked to the bone,
the rain keeps falling;

as i watch the sky turn pale and grey and overcast with clouds,
darkness slowly sets in from all directions,
standing under an umbrella,
i sit there, waiting for the light (sunrise),
on a world that is getting darker and darker (scarier);
