January 10, 2012

the sound of silence grows,
every minute feels like a hour,
every hour feels like a day,
as i sit in in the cold light of morning;

its far too late, too lateAlone in the Crowd
to pick up my heart from the floor,
as it lay in pieces,
right where you threw it yesterday night;

little by little,
strangers became friends,
friends became lovers,
and suddenly, lovers became strangers;

i am lying here,
lying next to where you left me in pieces,
can’t move, can’t scream,
with only silence for company;

the tick tock of the clock and,
the beat of my heart grows louder and louder,
shrouded by a mystery,
i feel so alone;

as the melody of love fades into the distance,
the screams of silence is all that remains,
lost in the shadows of life,
i am here, Alone, in a crowded room!

    Very beautiful explantaion of the word ‘Alone’ caused by separation from a person who was the love of the life. Loneliness really kills sometimes and we feel like screaming aloud even if we are surrounded by huge crowd.

    • Praveen January 31, 2012 at 9:39 pm

      Thank you Elvirah.

    One of the poems i wrote was called Love. It goes like this,
    You love one person, but you also love another person, soon you’ll find yourself in a situation where you love 10 different people. Out of the 10 people is the person you love and churish the most, the question is, who is it?

  • nancy walter April 15, 2012 at 5:05 pm

    I too write poems and music lyrics instead of screaming for help when the walls fall in around me. It’s a process of loss and trying to move foreward when the world looks at you as a magnet of strength and endurance. I hide in my poems and cover the darkness with fine words and silent dred that tomorrow is another day.

  • saleena April 19, 2012 at 4:04 am
