sparkling thoughts like diamond
glitter inside this emotion less face,
illuminated by hope and a deeper
desire to live, they shine brightly;

listening to the voice inside
that is dying to come out,
I search for means
to keep myself sane!

I try to forgive and forget, but
memories cling on like leeches do;
how can I forgive,
when I can’t forgive myself!

out of the shadows and
into the sun, dreams and desires
come back alive, nourished by the
rays of hope I found within me!

as I dance around in this stage,
a million eyes watch my every move,
ready to pounce and devour
the moment I fall down!

it’s been a while
since I wanted to live,
now that I want to live
I am stuck at the starting line!

with no desire to enter into
this contest of survival,
I take a step, one at a time,
and live for the moment!

expectations weigh me down,
dreams leave me restless,
when life seduces you with happiness,
how can I succumb to
guile of the devil!
