Rhythm of the night

as I swim through a
sea of uncertainty,
my heart sang with joy,
my anguish thoughts gone!

I don’t understand how or why,
at times, I feel like the end is near,
while at times, I feel like
this is just the beginning!

as I feel the warmth of the
breeze upon my face,
the sun gives way to darkness,
illuminating the sky with diamonds aplenty;

if only I had wings I could fly away,
into the night sky, beyond the moon,
far away from the depths of reality,
where life seems like eternity;

feeling useless and so unwanted,
I found myself trapped in life’s grip
lost in chaos and confusion,
nothing seemed to be right;

as faith and hope joined hands
to shield me from the danger
that life threw in my path,
courage lifted me up
and put me back on path;

as I search happiness,
that I have yet known,
the rhythm of the night
gently puts my fears to sleep!
