Death to all my friends

spirit
time has taken its toll
enduring everything life has thrown at me
i stand here on the verge on greatness,
on the threshold of a new life;

getting lost within myself
drifting further and further away
i have nothing left to do
i am so tired of these memories;

in a world of constant motion
i stand still, watching
the madness spread its tentacles
every nook and corner;

seeing my reflection in the puddle at my feet
my hands are cold and stained
as  my mind slowly drifted into insanity,
my energy slowly drained away;

as the knife fell down with a loud thump,
the blood started oozing out from the cut,
covering the hilt and slowly
dripping down to the floor;

the moonlight shines brightly
through the broken mirror,
as petals fall from the window
i ticked off another name from my list,
and stepped out into a Mad mad world
gone out of control;

this is something that i started writing a long time ago, but never got around to finishing it until today.

Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge. – Paul Gauguin

It is a revenge the devil sometimes takes upon the virtuous, that he entraps them by the force of the very passion they have suppressed and think themselves superior to. -  George Santayana
