All in the mind

alone-in-a-crowd

i searched for hours
in the crowded marketplace
and in the high class supermarket
for the perfect bright bouquet of flowers;

i have always believed in love
putting it above everything else
i used to dream of finding true love
pretending it to be my saviour in dire times;

walking down the dark road
as the sounds of the music played gently
in the twilight hour
here I stand in solitude;

with darkness closing in on all sides
and the sounds of the music receding
i gathered the strength to leave it all behind
because the love i think that i am trying to find
is probably all in the mind;
